source material

Growing up two years apart, Nicholas and Christopher spent a lot of time together. Theirs has been an insatiable pursuit of drawing and art appreciation. As a loosely structured form of play, they copied comics, magazines, cartoons, trading cards and posters. Sometimes handing sheets of paper back and forth, they became the authors changing stories and reinventing the characters. As they grew older they were encouraged to keep making art through after school classes and participation in local art shows. All the while, their influences remained in the world of fantasy and their ultimate audience continued to be one another.

This show is a reflection on those influences. Showing together for the first time in years Nicholas and Christopher exhibit how their early experiences of making art together, and especially their source material, continues to be a constant deep influence.
